FAQ
Technical Details
All about your volume
Doubts about actual capacity? We answer the most frequent questions here about interior space and loading limits.
How much can you actually store in a 20-foot unit?
To give you a concrete idea, our 20-foot space can generally hold the complete furnishings of a well-furnished 4 ½ or 5 ½ room apartment.
This represents approximately 1,165 cubic feet of usable space. If you stack your boxes optimally, you would be surprised at how much a single container can hold.
How many standard-sized boxes can I expect to load?
On average, a standard unit can accommodate between 150 and 200 medium-sized cardboard boxes, while still leaving room for some large furniture (appliances, sofas).
To maximize capacity, we always advise placing heavy and bulky objects at the back and filling the empty spaces up to the ceiling with your boxes.
Is there a weight limit for loading the container?
Yes. To guarantee safe transport, the suggested weight limit for the contents is 10,000 lbs of payload. This capacity is well above the needs of a standard residential move (furniture, appliances, and boxes).
However, if you are storing high-density materials (pallets of bricks, tiles, heavy machinery), it is imperative to distribute the load evenly over the entire surface of your space.
Note for your logistics : Before your container is picked up, our carrier will have you complete a load assessment form. This step is crucial as it validates the actual weight of your unit. Note that the transport rate for the return or transfer will be the same as for your initial delivery.
